Manifesting God’s Sufficiency

December 2009

II Corinthians 9:8:
And God
is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.

God is able to provide for us in every situation. We always have all sufficiency in all things so that we may abound to every good work. What are some actions we can take to bring God’s sufficiency into manifestation in our lives?

Let’s start with KNOWING WHAT GOD’S WORD SAYS. By reading and studying God’s Word, we learn what God makes available to His people.

Proverbs 2:1,5:
My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;
Then shalt thou understand the fear
[respect] of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.

Psalms 119:16:
I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.

Ephesians 3:4:
Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ.

Another action we can take to manifest God’s sufficiency is KEEPING GOD FIRST IN OUR LIVES.

Exodus 20:2,3:
I
am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

We seek first and foremost the one true God.

Matthew 6:33:
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Colossians 3:2:
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

To successfully manifest God’s sufficiency, we put Him first in our hearts and actions.

Another action to take to manifest God’s sufficiency in our lives is CONFESSING GOD’S WORD. Our confession is what we say. When we confess what God says in His Word, then the Word becomes a reality in our lives.

Romans 8:35,37:
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

To live the more abundant life and to be more than conquerors through him that loved us, we must confess (say) what the Word of God says. When our words are lined up with what the Word says, we manifest God’s sufficiency.

Through the accomplishments of Jesus Christ, God has made us complete spiritually. We lack nothing. God has left nothing undone for us. So words such as these in the following scriptures are what we want to have coming from our lips.

Colossians 2:10:
And ye are complete in him
[Christ], which is the head of all principality and power.

Ephesians 3:20:
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power
[or ability of God] that worketh in us.

Philippians 4:19:
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

II Peter 1:3:
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that
pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.

One more action we can take to manifest God’s sufficiency is BELIEVING. Believing is acting on the Word. The more of the Word we confess—to ourselves, to our friends, to our spouses, to our children—the more Word we will believe in the depths of our hearts. And when we are convinced in our hearts and then act on the Word, we will see His truth come to pass.

Mark 11:23:
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Ephesians 1:19:
And what
is the exceeding greatness of his [God’s] power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his [God’s] mighty power.

I Thessalonians 2:13:
For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received
it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

As we know what God’s Word says, keep Him first in our hearts and actions, confess the promises of His Word, and believe that Word in the depths of our hearts, we will manifest the truth that God promises by His grace: We always have all sufficiency in all things so that we may abound to every good work.
