80th Anniversary Field Celebrations Recap—January through Mid-April

The Way International’s eightieth anniversary field celebrations were kicked off in the month of January and are continuing all over the world! For your blessing, here is an update on these powerful and impacting events with links to Flickr albums showing some of the believers who attended.

In January, the Mid-South and South Atlantic Regions of The Way of the U.S.A. gathered in Atlanta, Georgia. Members of the Board of Directors attended along with other Headquarters and local leadership. In International Outreach, a celebration was held in San Salvador, El Salvador. Believers from Belize, Costa Rica, and Guatemala also traveled in for this event.

In February, believers from Bénin, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Nigeria, and Togo gathered in Lomé, Togo. Revs. Marlo Vergara and Jean-Yves De Lisle were in attendance. A joyful celebration was also held in Trafaria, Almada, Portugal, in which believers from Spain and Portugal participated. In Santiago, Chile, believers traveled in from Brazil, Chile, and Peru for their celebration. The President of The Way International, Rev. Vern Edwards, and his wife, Jill, attended, as well as Rebeca Hulse from the Headquarters of The Way. Believers from the Dominican Republic met in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Rev. Marlo Vergara and his wife, Millie, were in attendance. Believers in Argentina also held an event in Mendoza, Argentina. Rev. and Mrs. Edwards were in attendance, as well as Rebeca Hulse. In Kansas City, Missouri, believers from the Great Lakes and Mid-America Regions celebrated together. Rev. and Mrs. John Rupp (Maria) attended this meeting. In Yaoundé, Cameroon, believers participated in the celebration, traveling in from the Central African Republic and Cameroon. And in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), believers gathered together in the city of Kinshasa. Rev. and Mrs. Steve Crommett (Margarita) attended this celebration.

In March, believers from Italy met in Agrigento, Sicily, Italy. In Cincinnati, Ohio, believers came in from the Midwest and East Central Regions of The Way of the U.S.A. The Revs. Bill and Marcia Greene were in attendance at this anniversary celebration. Believers from Trinidad and Tobago also met in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. At this event, Marcia Lombardi was in attendance, as well as Renée Williams from The Way International Headquarters. In Congo, believers met in the city of Brazzaville. And in Mérida, Venezuela, believers held a meeting. This was the first of six anniversary celebrations that were held in Venezuela.

In April, five celebrations were held in Venezuela in the cities of Caracas, El Tigre, Valencia, Puerto La Cruz, and Coro. In The Way of the U.S.A., believers from the North Atlantic and Blue Ridge Regions celebrated together in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Angela Priester and her husband, Perry, were in attendance. And in Southampton, England, believers gathered from Ireland and the United Kingdom to hold their eightieth anniversary celebration. The Revs. Bill and Marcia Greene also attended.
