80th Anniversary Field Celebrations Recap—Mid-April through September

The Way International’s eightieth anniversary field celebrations continued in the month of April and ultimately wrapped up in September of 2023. Since these events started in January, over thirty locations worldwide have held celebrations. For your blessing, here is a recap of these powerful and impacting events from April to September with links to Flickr albums showing some of the believers who attended.

Celebrations continued in mid-April with one being held in New Zealand. Rev. Marlo Vergara and Rev. Miċeál Adams attended. Then these gentlemen traveled to Australia and gathered with believers in Brisbane. Afterward, Marlo and Miċeál traveled to the Philippines where a joyful celebration was held in Olongapo City, and finally, they visited believers in Japan at the end of April. There also was a celebration held in Niamey, Niger, with believers traveling in from Burkina Faso, Chad, Niger, and Tunisia.

In May, Rev. and Mrs. David Sewell (Kate) visited believers in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada, for their celebration. Rev. and Mrs. John Rupp (Maria) also attended a time of celebration in México City, México. Believers from the Rocky Mountain and Western Regions joined together in Denver, Colorado, with the President of The Way International, Rev. Vern Edwards, and his wife, Jill, in attendance. Believers from Belgium, France, the Netherlands, and Switzerland met in Paris, France, with Dr. Angela Priester and her husband, Perry, attending. Believers from Côte d’Ivoire also met in Grand-Bassam, Côte d’Ivoire. And finally at the end of the month, believers from Barbados and Saint Lucia celebrated together in Gros Islet, Saint Lucia.

In June, celebrations were held in Colombia, Germany, and Belgium. In Colombia, believers from Ecuador and Colombia gathered in the city of Bucaramanga. In Essen, Germany, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Phillips (Toni) traveled in from The Way International Headquarters to be with the believers. The celebration in Belgium took place in the city of Diest.

In July, believers from Gabon met in Libreville, Gabon. Rev. Vern Edwards and Rev. Steve Crommett attended. Afterward, they traveled to Luanda, Angola, to fellowship with the believers at their anniversary celebration. Believers from Rwanda also held their anniversary celebration in Kigali, Rwanda.

In August, one anniversary celebration was held in Johannesburg, South Africa. And in September, the final eightieth anniversary field celebration took place in Lausanne, Switzerland.

We are so thankful for all the anniversary celebrations that took place around the world. Thanks be to God for eighty years of moving the accuracy of God’s Word far and wide together!
